In a near future a friend of mine Arana will return to her motherland Australia to get married.
In the West the Bible shows a dove, the bird to bring about peace, holding an olive branch in the beak.
In Japan among the treasures of Horyuji Temple hanakui-dori (flower-eating bird), the happiness-carrying bird, are depicted as holding a flower or a branch, in the pattern that is said to have originated in Sassanian Persia.
In creating a congratulatory gift for Arana I am painting this pattern now.
I have a deep wish that this bird flies beyond time of more than one thousand years and over the ocean to deliver a message of peace.
