”A New Drawing of the Six Realms” includes Mushroom Clouds

Rokudozu (a drawing of the Six Realms) is a graphical depiction of a Buddhist teaching that we will have a rebirth into six different realms depending on one’s behaviors in the current life.

Presently, I am in the process of creating a 7 meter wide Rokudozu with a new perspective that the drawing has a common appeal going beyond race, religion, age, and gender of the viewer.

As symbols of the realm of assures (the realm of evil filled with anger) where war-loving people are destined to I have depicted two Mushroom Clouds, the collapse of the World Trade Center Building, etc…with my prayer for peace in the world and happiness of mankind.

The true deterrence comes from sharing of the knowledge of horror of nuclear arms all over the world

Why do nuclear arms continue to exist?

It is because (1) there still exist people in power who believe they can maintain their power through the politics of horror by nuclear arms, and (2) a contradiction exists between the current possessors who shut their eyes to their own blemishes and try to prevent others to own nuclear arms and those new nuclear-club members to be.

How can we change this current situation?

I believe the true deterrence of war comes from disseminating and sharing the knowledge of the horrors of nuclear arms all over the world.

That is why we have been transmitting “Voice of A-bomb Victims.”

We must also remember that Japan was also engaging itself in the nuclear development during the World-War II. What would have happened if Japan were successful in completing the development? …
